Welcome to the home of the RSPCF
Seattle Police canines play an important and vital role in today’s policing. They have been locating criminals, finding crucial evidence, and protecting the lives of both police officers and citizens alike for over 30 years.

During their career of public service, which lasts an average of 8-10 years, these courageous animals often suffer knee, leg, and back injuries while in the performance of their duties. Although treated at the time, these injuries result in a shorter life span and require further medical attention long after they retire.

Whether retirement is due to injury or not, the police department no longer provides veterinary coverage for our companions.

As these veterinary costs are expensive and now become the responsibility of the handler, the Seattle Police canine officers formed a non-profit corporation to assist with these necessary medical expenses. Since its inception in 2001, the Retired Seattle Police Canine Fund has distributed over $19,000 in medical benefits, including euthanasia coverage when our friends could no longer go on.
