It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Seattle Police K9 Mazimus (Moose) on October 19, 2013. Moose was a month shy of his 10th birthday when he succumbed to complications from recently diagnosed liver cancer. Officer Moore was blessed with a few weeks to spoil PD Moose and spent some precious time with his partner.
Moose was partnered with Officer Sean Moore and had been catching bad guys in Seattle since the fall of 2005. Moose was credited with catching over 50 suspects during his career and there were many stories to go along with all those captures.
Moose was more than a police canine. He was an loyal partner, companion and an awesome family member. Moose spent many special days with his family when he was off duty but he really loved to work.
Moose was full of energy and life but most of all he had a big heart. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be sorely missed.
Sean requests that any remembrances be made to the Retired Seattle Police Canine Fund.
R.I.P. PD Moose
